What God wants in worship

Acts 16:4-12

As we have desires and expectations when we come to worship , so it is with the Lord , our God . He has hopes and desires for His people who come to worship Him . What are the expectations of God to His people who come to worship ?

God Wants You And The Whole of Your family worship Him ( Joshua 24:14-28 )

Joshua was a man who understands the content and the desire of God's heart . In the presence of Israel he said : " But if you do not think is good to serve the Lord , choose you this day whom ye will serve ; gods your forefathers worshiped beyond the Euphrates River , or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live in is . But me and my house , we'll be serving God " ( verse 15 )

There is a very basic reason why God wants you and all your family members have to serve him , because " God does not want anyone from your family perish " ( Matthew 18:12-14 ) . For God " one " person just perish , it's too much ( 2 Peter 3:7-9 ) . He wants everyone to repent and be saved .

GOD WANTS YOU LISTEN CAREFULLY TO HIS WORD (Ecclesiastes 4:17 - 5:6)

Many people come to worship with are not ready to hear his word. That is, if the word of God say about blessing or something entertaining then he gladly accepted it. On the contrary, if the word of God is something that is conveyed reproof, counsel of sin, righteous living and holiness that touched their lives, many people who do not like and feel offended. 

This is not surprising because since ancient times when the Lord Jesus delivered His word, many people feel offended and stumble. (Matthew 15:12,21:45, John 6:60-66) 

Who are they? They are the ones who are not stubborn to change. They do not want to be touched even gave his life by anyone. For God, willing and open to hear His word is far more pleasing to him than the sacrifice.

GOD WANTS YOU RESPECT AND HONOR HIM (Hebrews 12:25-28)

There are habits that are not good during religious services and reflects an attitude that does not respect his presence by some people and it seems like it's become a kind of habit .

For example : when the word of God was delivered there are certain people who like to talk alone with the person sitting next to him , some are playing phone , sms , bbm , and so forth .

There is also the dam asleep daydreaming , if there are small children or infants who were present at worship , they deliberately teasing or talking to small children or babies and thus does not respect the servant of the Lord speaking to convey His word .

If we can not honor the God that invisible servants , who spoke on behalf of God , how can we say that we honor the God who sent him invisible naked eye .

May the Holy Spirit help us all to be able to worship in accordance with the desires of his heart .
