Baptism In The Red Sea

Today God Is First (TGIF) by Os Hillman

"Therefore we have been buried together with him by baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life in". (Romans 6:4)

When Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, he brought them to the edge of the Red Sea. This race saw the sea stretches before them and hear the roar of Egyptian chariots behind them. They know they are caught - and their faith in God vanished. They thought God no longer work in their lives. In panic and desperation, they turned to Moses and said, "Why have you brought us to the desert to die? Once we become slaves in Egypt, would not we say to you, 'Do not bother us and let us work on the Egyptians. Better reason for us to live as slaves than to die in this wilderness. "

They can not imagine that the way God leads them to freedom turns directly toward and through deep water! Water of the Red Sea, as the sacrament of baptism in the New Testament, is a symbol of death. When Moses split the Red Sea, the Israelites walked on dry seabed with water wall established for their side. They descend into the depths of the sea. They died for their old self and rise toward a new life, which brought them to the Promised Land.

Like the Israelites in their journey, we are often panicked and cried out to God, "What thou bring me into the wilderness to die suffering?" We would rather die than live as slaves for themselves and surrender control of our lives to God. But God brought us through so that we can emerge into a new man, the human being ready to enter the Promised Land.

In general, I observe that the larger and the higher calling of God to someone, the more weight troubles. I'm not saying that calling a person more important than the other, but I want to say that someone may potentially affect a large ebih for others. And this is often demanding greater preparation. Therefore, if you are experiencing difficulties in, thank God today that IA is preparing you for a life that is planned to impact on many people.

May the Holy Spirit will help us, Lord Jesus bless!!
