Everything in good time
Everything in good time

(Ecclesiastes 3:1-13)
"Paragraph 1: For everything there is a season, for every activity under the heavens there is time. Verse 11a: He has made everything beautiful in its time, and even He set eternity in their hearts."

Shalom, peace greeting of the Lord Jesus for us all.

Book of the preacher could be misunderstood if we do not read as a whole, because there are parts that talk about life with phrases that say "everything is in vain". But she was not intended by the author.

Because at the end of his book, he delivered a message to the firm: "The end of all has been heard is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every hidden thing, whether it be good, or evil. (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14). So Ecclesiastes would like to emphasize that everything will be in vain if it is beyond God.

Article 3:1-13 gives a very important lesson for us, when it says: "All things in good time and God has made everything beautiful in its time". There are three purposes of the statement:

1. So that people can tolerate all these increasing challenges (verses 9-10)
Patience will arise in us when we know that all things in good time, including suffering, sorrow and all kinds of it. Patience means being able to survive and pass a long-suffering. Patience also means being able to follow a heavy and painful process.

2. So that people are not easily discouraged or give up easily (verse 11)
Hope and a new spirit will appear also in ourselves when we know that God will make everything beautiful in its time. We do not know when it will happen, but the promise of God is enough for us to survive and do not easily give up, because we are sure everything will be wonderful.

3. In order to experience human life balance (verses 12-13)
Labors and joy are two things that really balance our lives. Similarly, with tears and laughter. Life really become unbalanced if we continue to cry or laugh constantly. The Bible describes people who believe like an eagle. But we have to know that eagles can only fly if the wings balanced. Similarly, would be flying high if our lives balanced. Because it is a time to seek and a time to lose, no time to work and a time to worship God.

May the Lord Jesus bless us all, Amen!
