Let's Build a House of God

Print Friendly and PDF Let's Build a House of God (Ezra 1:1-11)
Why God commanded His people to build a house for Him?

1. As we encounter the Lord's Place
  • The Lord Jesus said, "My house shall be called a House of Prayer". In prayer we meet with God and build a relationship with God.
  • God's house is a place of worship meetings between people and God. So there is no justification for the saying: "Although not to the church but my heart is fixed on God and pray at home". Because people who close their hearts to God will always miss the encounter with God in the temple. Read Psalm 84:2-8
  • Important note: God is omnipresent, but do not see HIM in any place!!!.

2. The growth as the place of Our Faith

Why is building called the House of God Church?
  • Because the church became a place of faith and our spiritual growth. In the temple we interact with each laindan so we learn from each other, love each other, support each other, and others that our faith grows increasingly
  • Because the Church is a family that needs a shelter. As a member of a healthy family, then we all need a "home" as a place of shelter.
  • As sheep we need a clear cage. We are His sheep clear Lord, instead of wild sheep that do not have a clear cage. Israel's history shows that without the spiritual life of the temple was destroyed. They are involved in a variety of idolatry and rebellion against God as well as to the leading people.
3. The presence of God as Monument

  • Start of the tabernacle, the temple is seen as a symbol of God's presence on the ground. Where the tabernacle / temple was founded, there God is pleased present.
  • Because David has a deep desire to build a house of the Lord (Psalm 132:1-5)
  • When God is present then: devil was defeated, thanks to the miracle happened and poured!.

4. As the Center Praise and Worship to God

  • When the House of God ordained it down inside the cloud of God's glory and all present fell down and worshiped Him (2 Chronicles 7:1-3 and 1 Kings 8:10)
  • It is the center of true worship is in our hearts. But how can we unite our hearts if we are not in the same place and at the same time with the same purpose. Read Psalm 84:2-8 and Psalm 132:7-9.
  • The Lord Jesus said: "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all people to come to Me." (John 12:32)
