Read: 2 Chronicles 34:1-33
"When they brought out the money that had been brought to the house of the LORD, Hilkiah the priest found the book of law of the LORD given by Moses" (verse 14)
How
many times questions like these often arise in us: "Why is the word of
God that I hear every week does not seem to live in me?" "Why can not I
feel the power of the word of God as witnessed by other Christians ? "
Word of God that we hear seems to just be an information or knowledge to die alone. Yet the Bible says that the word was not far and not difficult to do. The word in the mouth and in our heart (Romans 10:8, Deuteronomy 30:11-14). The
Word is the word of faith, which means that the word must be accepted
and carried out by faith to live and its power to work in us.
Let
us learn from the life of King Josiah who has managed to revive the
word of God that has been stored a long time in the midst of Israel
(Judah) precisely in the temple and began mnengalami less neglected
ruin, filled with dirt and started many poles collapsed.
First, Josiah decided to seek the Lord (verse 3a). In a very young age compassion, Josiah has made a decision that is appropriate for the future nation. How important it sought God in the Christian faith. The Bible says, "Seek me, and ye shall live" (Amos 5:4-6). When we seek the spiritual and the word of God in our hearts will live because of contact with the Source of the Word itself. Because it's what he has done to be successful (Psalm 1:1-3). Even the Bible says: "Those who seek the Lord will lack no good thing" (Psalm 34:11).
Second, Josiah purified himself and his people from all forms of idolatry penyemabahan (3b). The
Word of God in our hearts will never be able to live and work in us if
we are still involved in the occult, believing the myths and the things
that are superstition, quackery, etc.. More broadly, the idols can mean everything we adore and treasure that has shifted the position of God on our lives. God said: "Thou shalt have no other gods before me!"
Third, Josiah repaired the temple (verse 8). The Bible says that God's House is us (1 Cor 3:16). If
you want the word of God lives in our hearts, we must cleanse our
hearts which is the 'House of God' out of all the dirt and debris (hurt,
resentment, hurt, despair, jealousy, envy, malice, hate and dirt other sins. Presumably God will help us all, amen!
