"I
will restore to you the years that the result is devoured by locusts
moving, jumper grasshopper, grasshopper and locust glutton, my great
army which I sent among you."
(Joel 2:25)
None of us can say that we have no regrets. We often fall into bad choices that prolonged and deep scars in the mind, body, and soul.
A friend of mine spent many years of his life in dependence on alcohol and drugs. But God did extraordinary work in his life, and he just celebrated 25 years of freedom in the dependency. He now runs a successful business, has a faithful wife and children who love Jesus. He
has a great desire to reach the people who are still living in
depravity, as well as serving as a mentor whose wise and compassionate
attempt to restore their lives.
God is never tired to drive us! Even if we had made bad choices in the past that we regret, we decide how we are going to live now. We
can choose to continue to live in dilapidated life and just wallow in
regret, or otherwise we can run to Christ and believe that He is able to
"restore the years the locusts away by the results." (Joel 2:25).
When the repentant heart we invoke the power of Christ to restore and redeem us, He will help us.
Although
there may still be a result of a past that we endure, we can be
confident that God has a good future and glorious for those who believe
in Him.
God is never tired of working to produce something beautiful in our lives. So let us get used to using time wisely. We
do not know how much time we are in the world, because our time is
God's grace and the time that has passed can not come back again.
"Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of the wise ..."(Psalm 90:12)
